This exhibition is in conjunction with the National Print Competition 1974 at National Art gallery. This competition is to promote interest and to encourage printmaking pursuits in Malaysia. Considering that printmaking is still in its infancy stage, the response to this competition was most heartening. There were 196 entries from 41 artists. Showing a very wide range of techniques - from the very sophisticated process (photoserigraph, photo etching) to lino cut. In all cases, the artists showed their command and understanding of the media they are employing.
